Berlin Packaging expands its presence in EMEA with the acquisition of BlueSky.
Choosing a packaging partner for your beverage brand isn’t just about finding a bottle that looks right — it’s about finding a supplier who can move at your pace, absorb risk you can’t, and grow with you as your volumes change. That’s the role we play for beverage brands across the UK and Ireland, from first-time challenger brands to established names scaling into new formats and channels.
As part of Berlin Packaging, the world’s largest hybrid packaging supplier, we combine the responsiveness of a specialist UK distributor with the buying power, global sourcing network, and sustainability resource of a genuinely global organisation. You get a local team who know your production line and your deadlines, backed by a supply chain built for resilience.
Independent and family-owned brands are leading the shift to aluminium bottles — using the format’s uninterrupted canvas to stand out on shelf before a customer’s even tasted the drink. The catch: going direct to a manufacturer usually means high MOQs and long lead times, which suits a multinational far better than a brand still testing the market.
This is where BlueSky fits in. We hold stock and manage customisation from as little as 1,000 units, and can advise on closure choice too — a standard screw neck with a branded lollipop label or shrink seal gives many independent brands the same tamper-evident finish as a ROPP neck, without the extra equipment, as we helped Ogilvy Vodka achieve.
The intrinsic properties of aluminium – shatterproof, infinitely recyclable, and lightweight – ensure the safe transit and premium condition of your beverages.
Additionally, aluminium bottles protect drinks from light exposure, preserving taste and quality while supporting eco-conscious practices.
Recycling aluminium requires only 5% of the energy needed to produce new aluminium.
Epoxy phenolic inner lacquer coating protects beverage integrity, with BPA-NI lacquer options for food safety compliance.
Aluminium bottles align with BRC and EU standards.
Vibrant printing, embossing, and custom finishes create premium shelf appeal.
Whether for spirits, RTDs, beers, or functional drinks, our range combines lightweight durability and fantastic customisation potential. Aluminium caps & closures available to suit all bottles.
Compact and perfect for specialty beverages, ensuring a high-end drinking experience.

Ogilvy’s Testimonial:
“BlueSky has been a delight to work with… they have gone above and beyond at every point.”
At BlueSky, we’ve been transitioning aluminium lines to BPA-free systems for a number of years — long before the formal ban came into force. That means if you’re sourcing through BlueSky, your future-proofing is already in progress.
For brands currently using BPA-based lacquers, we’re issuing individual change controls directly, so you have full visibility and documentation for your own compliance records. Any remaining products within our portfolio containing BPA-based lacquers will be discontinued for food and beverage applications ahead of the July 2026 deadline.
We’re also helping brands think beyond the BPA ban — planning for the full scope of packaging regulation changes already underway, including PPWR.
