Packaging

Healthcare and supplement brands operate in a market where trust is a product feature

Your pharmaceutical packaging doesn’t just contain a product, it signals quality, supports compliance, and drives the repeat purchase that keeps a brand alive.

Whether you’re launching a new VMS range, scaling a nutraceutical product, or re-packaging an existing healthcare line, BlueSky gives you the formats, supply structure and specification depth to do it properly.

We stock and supply the UK’s most trusted healthcare and pharmaceutical packaging formats including HDPE, PET and aluminium containers, child-resistant closures, tamper-evident options, and liquid dispensing formats, with UK-held stock, a structured scheduled order service, and documentation support built in.

Your Pharmaceutical Packaging Suppliers:
Why Healthcare Brands Choose BlueSky

The Cost of Getting
Packaging Wrong

In healthcare, pharma, and wellness categories, the margin for error is slim. A poor seal leaks in transit. An oversized headspace accelerates oxidation. A closure that doesn’t click-lock loses child-resistant status. Any one of these can create a returns surge, a brand complaint, or a reformulation that costs months.

BlueSky’s role is to help you remove those risks before they reach the production line. We work with brand owners, contract fillers and manufacturers to specify packaging that performs whilst protecting product stability, ensuring dose accuracy, and delivering the visual integrity that today’s health-conscious consumers expect.

Why BlueSky
for Healthcare, Supplements & Pharmaceutical Packaging

Packaging suppliers are easy to find. Packaging suppliers who understand healthcare supply chains, can hold your stock, and won’t leave you firefighting before a production run are a rare gem.

The BlueSky Difference

Format Expertise & Product Breadth

We offer a dedicated range of healthcare packaging across rigid plastics (HDPE and PET), aluminium, and glass, in formats suited to tablets, capsules, powders, granules, liquids and syrups.

From compact pill jars to wide-mouth powder tubs to ROPP-neck aluminium bottles, our product families are designed with fill-line compatibility and label surface in mind.

Stockholding & Scheduled Call-Off Programmes

Cash flow matters. Launch timing matters. We hold core stock in the UK, which means you can order what you need, when you need it, and set up call-off schedules against a forward commitment that locks in pricing and availability without requiring a single bulk delivery.

Documentation & Traceability Support

Healthcare and supplement brands often need material specifications, country-of-origin declarations and regulatory data-pack support.

We provide documentation to help you meet your own internal and customer requirements without making promises about compliance we can't substantiate on your behalf.

Line-Fit, Neck Finishes & Seal Guidance

The difference between a 38mm and a 45mm neck finish can mean a costly changeover on your fill line. We work with you on bottle-to-closure compatibility, induction seal specification and liner selection to avoid costly last-minute changes and support smooth, repeatable production runs.

Sustainable Material Options

Where available, we can offer recycled content (PCR) options and guide you towards mono-material formats that simplify end-of-life recycling.

We're transparent about what's available and what isn't so you can make informed sourcing decisions without overstating your sustainability position.

Who We Work With

What's Changing in Supplements, Nutraceuticals & Healthcare-Adjacent Products

The supplement market has changed, and consumers no longer treat vitamins and nutraceuticals as optional extras. They’re part of daily preventative health routines, taken as seriously as any prescribed medication. That shift changes what packaging needs to do.

Systems-led health goals are raising the bar
Buyers are now approaching their supplement purchase with a specific system in mind whether that’s gut health, metabolic support, hormonal balance, cognitive performance. They’re reading labels more carefully and expecting the same visual discipline and information hierarchy from a supplement brand that they’d find in a pharmacy product.

Many consumers now take multiple products everyday which means packaging needs to support the routine: consistent closure types, clear dose markings, and formats that stack or store together without creating confusion.

For brands selling stacks or bundles, packaging consistency across formats isn’t optional.

Taking large pills and tablets every day can be unpleasant, and this reality is driving growth in liquid supplements, powder formats, chewables and drink mixes, particularly in sports nutrition, children’s health and premium wellness.

Packaging must protect the product through shelf life and transit while delivering the premium experience the format commands.

In a market where ingredient claims are contested and brand trust is hard-won, packaging is the first signal of integrity. Tamper-evident closures, consistent seal quality and clean label panels without cluttered claims are important to consumers.

For DTC supplement brands in particular, the unboxing experience is part of the product experience.

Compliance & Credibility Cues

We know sustainability matters to your brand and to your customers.

The majority of our HDPE and PET containers are recyclable through established UK kerbside and retail take-back streams. PET in particular is one of the most widely recycled plastics in the UK. Aluminium is infinitely recyclable and has a high recovery rate. We encourage brands to check and communicate the recycling pathway clearly on-pack, rather than relying on generic ‘recyclable’ claims.

Frequently Asked
Questions

What packaging is best for supplement tablets and capsules?

For tablets and capsules, the most common formats are HDPE Duma Twist-Off containers, HDPE Pharma Packers (opaque, UV-protective), PET pill jars (transparent, lightweight, recyclable), and aluminium pill jars (premium, excellent moisture and light barrier). The right choice depends on your active ingredients, shelf-life requirements, fill process and brand positioning. Our team can advise based on your specific product brief.

The HDPE Duma range, available in Standard and Special variants, is the go-to format for powder supplements. Wide-mouth openings accommodate scoop access and high-speed filling. We can help you match the right Duma variant to your fill process and lid preference.
For liquid supplements and health syrups, we recommend the PET Pharma Veral or Sirop formats for clarity and measured-dose dispensing, or aluminium ROPP bottles where light barrier performance and premium positioning are priorities. Glass Dropper Bottles are also excellent for precise dosing of concentrated formats. We can advise on dropper caps, measuring closures and induction-seal options based on your formulation and fill process.
Yes. Child-resistant closures are available across multiple formats in the HDPE Duma range. Tamper-evident options are more widely used across PET, HDPE, aluminium pill jar options, these include induction seal liners (where your fill line supports induction sealing), ROPP neck closures, and tamper-evident bands. Please note that physical compliance testing and certification remains the responsibility of the brand owner.
HDPE offers excellent UV and moisture protection and is the standard for pharma-grade tablet and capsule packaging. PET offers clarity, lightweight performance and good recyclability which is ideal for consumer-facing retail and e-commerce. Aluminium provides the high barrier performance and a premium aesthetic that’s particularly suited to light-sensitive liquids, tablets and premium supplement brands. Our team can walk you through the trade-offs based on your product and goals.
Core formats across our healthcare range are held in UK stock, meaning you can order in quantities that suit your immediate production needs. We also offer made-to-order formats and bespoke specifications. We have a minimum order value of £500. We’ll be clear about what’s stocked and what’s sourced when we respond to your enquiry.
Yes. E-commerce durability is a key specification consideration for our team. We can advise on formats and closure combinations that minimise the risk of leaks in transit, including induction seal compatibility and closure torque specifications. For brands sending liquids or powders through courier networks, we’ll help you select formats that are validated for that environment.
Yes. We can advise on label panel dimensions, container surface characteristics, and neck or seam positions that may affect label application. We don’t print labels ourselves, but we work closely with customers to ensure the container specification supports their labelling process, whether that’s hand-applied, machine-applied or pre-decorated.
PCR stands for post-consumer recycled content meaning plastic or aluminium recovered and reprocessed from used packaging rather than produced from virgin material. Using PCR reduces demand for new plastic or aluminium and lowers the embodied carbon of your packaging. Mono-material refers to packaging made from a single material type (e.g., PET bottle with PET closure) which simplifies recycling and improves actual recovery rates. We can advise on which formats have PCR options and what percentage is available in current supply.
For stocked formats, samples can typically be dispatched the next working day if ordered by 14:30 the day before. Made-to-order or bespoke formats will carry longer lead times, which we’ll confirm at the quotation stage. Contact us to request samples or get a lead-time estimate for your format.
Yes. For customers with predictable volumes, we offer a structured scheduled order service meaning you commit to a forward volume at an agreed price, and we hold the stock for scheduled release. This reduces your storage burden, locks in pricing and ensures continuity of supply. Talk to our team about setting up a scheduled order service.
No, BlueSky provides packaging materials and specification guidance. We do not provide regulatory compliance advice, legal certification or product authorisation services. We can supply material specification sheets, country-of-origin documentation and other data-pack support, but all compliance decisions remain with the brand owner and their regulatory advisors.
