Aluminium Bottles: How Independent Beverage Brands Are Challenging the Market
Over the last three to five years, aluminium bottles have made successful inroads into the beverage market. In our view, much of that progress has
Your pharmaceutical packaging doesn’t just contain a product, it signals quality, supports compliance, and drives the repeat purchase that keeps a brand alive.
Whether you’re launching a new VMS range, scaling a nutraceutical product, or re-packaging an existing healthcare line, BlueSky gives you the formats, supply structure and specification depth to do it properly.
We stock and supply the UK’s most trusted healthcare and pharmaceutical packaging formats including HDPE, PET and aluminium containers, child-resistant closures, tamper-evident options, and liquid dispensing formats, with UK-held stock, a structured scheduled order service, and documentation support built in.
In healthcare, pharma, and wellness categories, the margin for error is slim. A poor seal leaks in transit. An oversized headspace accelerates oxidation. A closure that doesn’t click-lock loses child-resistant status. Any one of these can create a returns surge, a brand complaint, or a reformulation that costs months.
BlueSky’s role is to help you remove those risks before they reach the production line. We work with brand owners, contract fillers and manufacturers to specify packaging that performs whilst protecting product stability, ensuring dose accuracy, and delivering the visual integrity that today’s health-conscious consumers expect.
Packaging suppliers are easy to find. Packaging suppliers who understand healthcare supply chains, can hold your stock, and won’t leave you firefighting before a production run are a rare gem.
We offer a dedicated range of healthcare packaging across rigid plastics (HDPE and PET), aluminium, and glass, in formats suited to tablets, capsules, powders, granules, liquids and syrups.
From compact pill jars to wide-mouth powder tubs to ROPP-neck aluminium bottles, our product families are designed with fill-line compatibility and label surface in mind.
Cash flow matters. Launch timing matters. We hold core stock in the UK, which means you can order what you need, when you need it, and set up call-off schedules against a forward commitment that locks in pricing and availability without requiring a single bulk delivery.
Healthcare and supplement brands often need material specifications, country-of-origin declarations and regulatory data-pack support.
We provide documentation to help you meet your own internal and customer requirements without making promises about compliance we can't substantiate on your behalf.
The difference between a 38mm and a 45mm neck finish can mean a costly changeover on your fill line. We work with you on bottle-to-closure compatibility, induction seal specification and liner selection to avoid costly last-minute changes and support smooth, repeatable production runs.
Where available, we can offer recycled content (PCR) options and guide you towards mono-material formats that simplify end-of-life recycling.
We're transparent about what's available and what isn't so you can make informed sourcing decisions without overstating your sustainability position.
BlueSky’s healthcare and pharmaceutical packaging range is used across the full brand-to-shelf supply chain:
Launching or scaling supplement, VMS or nutraceutical ranges, from start-up DTC to established health retail brands
Supplying packaging-in alongside their fill service
Needing consistent, documentation-supported rigid containers
With own-label supplement programmes
Prioritising lightweight, transit-durable formats
Managing complex multi-SKU powder and liquid ranges
Crossing into supplement format territory
The supplement market has changed, and consumers no longer treat vitamins and nutraceuticals as optional extras. They’re part of daily preventative health routines, taken as seriously as any prescribed medication. That shift changes what packaging needs to do.
Many consumers now take multiple products everyday which means packaging needs to support the routine: consistent closure types, clear dose markings, and formats that stack or store together without creating confusion.
For brands selling stacks or bundles, packaging consistency across formats isn’t optional.
Taking large pills and tablets every day can be unpleasant, and this reality is driving growth in liquid supplements, powder formats, chewables and drink mixes, particularly in sports nutrition, children’s health and premium wellness.
Packaging must protect the product through shelf life and transit while delivering the premium experience the format commands.
In a market where ingredient claims are contested and brand trust is hard-won, packaging is the first signal of integrity. Tamper-evident closures, consistent seal quality and clean label panels without cluttered claims are important to consumers.
For DTC supplement brands in particular, the unboxing experience is part of the product experience.
Tablets, capsules and health supplements requiring a child-resistant, tamper-evident closure with intuitive consumer re-seal. Well suited to pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and OTC healthcare products where both safety compliance and ease of use are priorities.

Pharma Veral and Sirop formats are designed for liquid supplement and healthcare products requiring visual clarity, good barrier properties and consumer-appropriate dispensing. Amber and solid colours are ideal to protect light-sensitive formulations. PET construction balances weight savings with product integrity.
The ROPP (Roll On Pilfer Proof) necks are compatible with tamper-evident closures, with liners for added security.
Attractive, clinical presentation suitable for pharmacy and health retail. Amber colour safeguards light-sensitive formulations.
Premium liquid supplements, herbal extracts, tinctures, aromatherapy-adjacent wellness liquids and high-value formulations where light protection and premium aesthetics are a priority.
ROPP (Roll-On Pilfer-Proof) neck aluminium bottles are the benchmark format for products where light barrier performance, tamper integrity and premium positioning all matter. Provides an excellent barrier against UV, oxygen and moisture for sensitive liquid formulations.
ROPP closure provides both tamper evidence and a consistent, professional sealed format. Strong sealing performance suitable for alcohol-based or oil-based formulations.
Premium visual presence: aluminium ROPP is the format associated with quality tinctures, professional supplements and pharmacy-grade liquids. Strong signal of seriousness and formulation investment.
Liquid formats including herbal tinctures, essential oils, CBD and hemp extracts, aromatherapy blends and precision-dose liquid supplements where measured dispensing and premium pack presentation are required.
Glass construction provides chemical inertness and an inherent premium feel. The GL18 neck is the industry-standard finish for dropper bottles, ensuring compatibility with the full range of GL18 closures. Suitable for alcohol-based, oil-based and aqueous liquid formulations.
Compatible with the full range of GL18 closures including pipettes, internal droppers in cap, atomiser sprayers and treatment pumps. Closure choice can be matched to formulation viscosity and target dispensing dose.
Glass dropper bottles convey quality, precision and product integrity. The standardised GL18 neck finish is widely recognised across professional and consumer wellness markets as the signature format for tinctures, serums and precision liquid dosing.
DTC and e-commerce supplement brands dispatching direct to consumer via courier or postal networks. Particularly well suited to tablet and capsule formats where a robust, lightweight outer is needed without secondary carton packaging.
HDPE construction provides the UV and moisture protection needed to maintain product quality in transit. Designed to withstand the handling and compression stresses of courier and postal networks without compromising closure integrity.
Perfect size for postage, ensuring delivery. IHS lined snap-on cap, providing an extra layer of protection and safeguarding the integrity of the products during transit and storage.
Several formats in our healthcare range are compatible with tamper-evident features including induction heat seal (IHS) liners (where your fill line supports induction sealing), tamper-evident bands, and ROPP neck closures that provide visible evidence of first opening. We can advise on what's available for your chosen format and refer you to the appropriate specification documents.
Child-resistant push-and-turn closures are available across multiple format families including PET and HDPE pill jars, Pharma Packers, and some aluminium formats. We can help you select the appropriate closure for your product type and recommend testing approaches, but physical compliance testing and certification remains your responsibility.
Many of our bottles are available with induction-seal-compatible liners. If induction sealing is part of your fill process, we'll work with you on liner specification and compatibility with your sealing equipment to minimise the risk of seal failures at production scale.
The majority of our HDPE and PET containers are recyclable through established UK kerbside and retail take-back streams. PET in particular is one of the most widely recycled plastics in the UK. Aluminium is infinitely recyclable and has a high recovery rate. We encourage brands to check and communicate the recycling pathway clearly on-pack, rather than relying on generic ‘recyclable’ claims.
Not sure where to start? A 20-minute call with one of our packaging specialists is the fastest way to narrow your options and avoid specification errors. Here’s what we cover:
For tablets and capsules, the most common formats are HDPE Duma Twist-Off containers, HDPE Pharma Packers (opaque, UV-protective), PET pill jars (transparent, lightweight, recyclable), and aluminium pill jars (premium, excellent moisture and light barrier). The right choice depends on your active ingredients, shelf-life requirements, fill process and brand positioning. Our team can advise based on your specific product brief.
